The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

My boss gave me a Mogul this morning, so I went to the Sprint store right after work to get my number changed over. Everything went well. The tech even wrote down my MSL for me.

And then I left.

It just started to rain really hard, so my windows and mirrors were covered with droplets. My interior was fogged up, but I had my new Mogul. I backed out of my spot, careful of the guy behind me to the right when BAM! I backed into a car in the parking lot.

I couldn't see for crap, so I put on my hazrds and went back in. I found the girl, who worked there, and we called the cops and what-not. She was really nice and not even upset.

So an hour later PoPo shows up and we're trying to figure out how to unwedge a Tacoma's bumber (that's me) from an older Impala's front panel. As I bend down to get a look at where were attached, I dropped the Mogul in the rain. All parts that could fly out, did.

So basically, I had an accident and broke my new Mogul in about an hours time. There's a red light on under the IE button that won't go out. The touch screen is hit or miss. I've taken the cover off and battery out in hopes that dry air will somehow revive it, but I fear the worst.

Luckily I have the Apache to fall back on, but I think I feel worse for breaking the phone than breaking her car. I don't have insurance on the phone but the car will be taken care of.

Thats awful! Im sure all of us here mourn with you at the loss (hopefully a little drying out will work!)

I wonder if the phone could be covered under house insurance?

my wife mom had a razor that she dropped in a glass of water. a tech told her not to turn it on, but to bury it in rice for a day or two. supposedly it soaks up the moisture. anyway, she let it in the rice for two days. now it works great. only problem is an intermittent # key.

i dont mean to laugh but what a messed up end to a day. lol why call the cops for the accident? if she was cool you should of just traded papers, or offered to pay cash. anyway, file a lost claim.

in one manner of thinking, your car accident led to your phone being damaged... so maybe there's a clever way to get reimbursed for the phone via that route. i know it sounds far fetched, but i'm sure crazier things have happened.

Actually, thats not a horrible idea. I've heard stories of stranger things (like pregnancies) being covered by car insurance. When you call your insurance, run it by them.
