Mogul - No IR Port

I sent HTC an email as I was concerned with my universal remote control software not working on the Mogul. I asked them if there would be an updated ROM or if WM6.1 would fix this issue and this is there response.

"Bugsy, I understand your concern with regards to IR port on the Mogul. Unfortunately the Sprint Mogul does not come equipped with IR, only bluetooth. HTC has started to phase out the IR port on our devices. Their is no way to enable the feature and future updates will not be able to enable the feature as its a hardware that is missing and has been replaced with just bluetooth support."

So for those of us who have heard that this software would be working in the future, that statement is incorrect.
