Unhappy Sadly lost

Sadly, I lost my phone this weekend... a friend called it and got someone who said they found it, but didn't get their # or anything, and now my phone's battery is obviously dead.

Wish i could track it's gps position for the weekend... i want my phone back! anyone have a spare I could buy? i just got 6.1 on it too...

Sorry to hear that, did you have insurance on it? I lost my 6700 over the summer (I still swear it is in a box in the garage...long story). Sprint deactivated the phone, I paid $50 and go another one. If you did not have insurance, try calling an adding insurance on it, wait a week and report it missing and pay $50 for a new one. That is about the extent of my knowledge. Hope it helps, good luck.

dat sucks. i recently installed an application called "Sprite Terminator". I know this isn't any help to you, but i hope someone will find it useful. Here are the Features:

When will Terminator save you?
Find your lost phone using GPS - See exactly where your phone is and track it.
Lost or Stolen Phone - Remotely Lock or Wipe it
Decommissioning a phone for re-cycling or resale - Don't risk leaks or embarassment

Why should I care?
Personal or Corporate Data on Smartphones means you risk your privacy and/or your company’s confidential information. According to the Gartner Group, over 250,000 cell phones and PDAs are lost or stolen at airports every year, and only 25 to 30 percent of them ever make it back to their rightful owners.

Key Features
Locate your phone using GPS - See exactly where your phone is and track it on via Google Maps, or Virtual Earth.
Set and Forget – Once configured, Sprite Terminator is unobtrusive and can only be uninstalled with the correct password
Remote Delete – Send an SMS message to initiate the wipe operation including all external storage cards
Remote Lock-Down – Send an SMS message to lock all functionality or re-set the device master password
SIM Change Alert – Receive a notification SMS message if the SIM card has been changed
Activity Retrieval – Send an SMS message to retrieve call log entries
Supports all Windows Mobile 5 & 6 Phones

Not a good idea. This is called "Insurance Fraud", and in most places is a felony.

I did setup a remote wipe from exchange. But it is not on currently. Think sprint would give the coordinates of the phone (last time it was on??)

That's fraud. Which could land you in major shit and how are you going to explain the fact that you hadn't even used the phone since you bought insurance on it? Also, what if someone returns the phone to your service providers store and tells them they found it a week ago?

I would highly recommend not to do this.

Yeah, that's not much of an option. What I have to consider right now, is whether to jump ship and go with ATT and a Tilt. But that entails moving other people over as well (eventually).
