Rev A issue

I just flashed over to the No2Chem release. I love it. the GPS comes in very handy for me since I am making extra cash as a driver.

I see people on here touting rev-a since the upgrade. i have searched but have not found a way to test, enable, verify that I am Rev-A. if anything the internet speeds seem slower than before.

I live in Los Angeles, so i am assuming that Rev-A is available here.

How can I upgrade to Rev-A. or how can I verify that I have rev-a speeds.

Sorry for the newb post but I searched and could not find.

Thanks

I've been wondering this too, as I'm also in LA.

Easiest/most accurate way is to tether to a computer and test your upload and download speeds. If your upload is above, say 200 kbps, you can be sure you are using Rev A. You won't see much of a difference just browsing from your phone, as things like the rendering speed of your browser play a big part in the perceived speed of your experience. Also, it isn't always going to be a night and day difference. You can be using Rev A but still get low speeds if you are in an area with heavy data traffic. All in all it is defintely a nice boost though.

Is there a way to check from the phone with/out tethering?

I tried the method mentioned here:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...ight=tethering
and had no luck. Can't find anywhere under connections where it says phone aqs modem.

Error:
"Your browser does not fully support javascript, we cannot test your speed."

Do I need opera or something?

Use http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ instead. You have to have Flash Player 7 installed though. I would attach the CAB but Im at work right now. It will test your upload which is the best indicator anyway. EVDO Rev0 does not go too far beyond 80kbps up!

Confirmed working, flash 7 is pretty cool on the phone :)

I am at 140 kbps down, and 54 kbps up

Wow! That is like 1X speed. I'd try testing a few more times, and in different areas. If you're still getting speeds that low, you might want to check that you don't have your phone set to 1X only:

Start-->Settings-->Phone-->Services-->Mode of Operation
