Purchase a 2GB micro SD card http://digitalmediaoutlet.com/2GB-Ki...B000NIX2MM.htm $7.49
A copy of Iguidance 4 http://www.inavcorp.com/product/navi...e_software.php $109.00 and you can have unlimited access to the US/Canada on you phone with the GPS built in, no need for a monthly fee and the software will work on any new phone you upgrade to. I have used Iguidance on 3 windows mobile phones so far, PPC6700, IP830w and now the Mogul. The Text to speech is great and the maps are more accurate than TOMTOMs and render with more text on screen (identifying streets). Complete US/Canada maps are 1.3 GB and it fits nicely on the 2GB Microsd card. With the prices as of today you break even in 12 months vs using the spring $9.99 per month service, and do not need to be in a Sprint signal location to use the GPS capability of your phone. Cheers. |

Re: Sprint navigation
We are not supposed to have sprintnav on these phones yet. Its blocked in the system. The app for the Mogul is external gps only btw. The only cab that works is from the 6700 and other phones.
What you want to do is call sprint and have them setup add telenav not sprintnav. Same provider different app. Find one of the 6700 sprintnav apps on this forum and install it. Then you can call telenav and they manualy setup your account with sprint on the phone. You end up being able to use both apps sprintnav and telenav allthough the telenav app only works with external reciever but you can use the 6700 cab and its perfect. Setting up with telenav leaves you open to both apps wich allows for better compatability options imo. I have it working perfectly atm using the old sprintnav from the 6700. Its a great app. Last edited by Stevenewjersey; 02-20-2008 at 08:59 AM. |

Re: Sprint navigation
I personally ended up just purchasing it through the application itself since I needed it at the time and the trial expired. I may get it worked out later once it is official, but it's not a big deal if I get billed separately IMO at the moment.

Re: Sprint navigation
Same here, I just called a rep upgraded my plain to unlimited data, texts, and navigation. I started getting text messages advising me that now that I have navigation on my plan I should go in and upgrade to a phone with GPS, I ignored those, flashed the Test Rom, and was able to use sprint navigation......On a side note, it's not the best navigation software out there, I just use it cause it didnt cost any extra, and is voice guided.

Re: Sprint navigation
This is an old thread and the only one on this topic, but is anyone still using the Sprint Nav or the Telenav on their 6700? I called sprint gave the BS about how the phone is not compatible and using Telenav is a separate fee.

Re: Sprint navigation
You have to call sprint and have them reset your phone's profile. You can do it yourself but I do not know what type of phone you have. For the HTC's Go to Settings, Phone, Services and get settings and that resets the phone profile
