Need help big time...

Well, today I went to go into my pictures on my memory card and the entire folder was empty... even when I plugged it into my computer and browsed from there. So I took the card out and put it into the card reader on my laptop and when Vista picked it up it asked to fix it or whatever. So I let it and now my My Pictures folder is a file. It is 13 mb in size so obviously my pictures are still there, but how can I pull them out?

There are a few in there that I took today that were basically once in a lifetime pictures. I would really like to get them back. Everything else was already backed up on my laptop.

Any ideas at all?

Thanks in advance.

Well, for one thing....I'd say copy that "file" to your PC just incase one of the "fixes" totally hoses it.
Sorry I don't have an answer for you, but I have several unanswered posts here & there & its nice just to know somebody's listening

Once on ur PC maybe you can fiddle w/ Norton Utilities on it?

First thing I would do is make several copies and save them to various places on your computer, JIC. Then you are going to want to tell us if the file has an extension, what that is. If it doesnt, I would start opening it with programs such as winrar or winzip or something like that. Its kind of hard without more information, but Vista might have tried to backup whatever it was fixing to an archive, which is my best guess without better info.

Will do. But no, there is no extension. Just a file. But I will try WinRar.

Yeah, sorry I cant offer much, I already said everything that I know. And I'm a big time nerd and I never knew a folder could just up and become a file with no extension... lol

I'll let you know what WinRar does.

Thanks!
