Thank you.

I just loaded up iGuidance today, and this article is dead-on accurate about the strengths & weaknesses!

That ALK CoPilot Live 7 looks pretty impressive. If only it wasnt 200 dollars, I might give it a try. Maybe a . . . cheaper . . . version will come out soon, for testing purposes.

Where's tom tom navigator or garmin mobile xt? I've never even heard of most of those and they look ridiculously expensive

Well, Tom Tom is on the list. It is the last GPS program he reviews.

Garmin most likely didn't make the list because it just recently became true mapping software(before it only came with their GPS units). It probably didn't have time to get reviewed.

However, the nice thing about the article is that it does mention software I hadn't heard of before and does give you the information that a lot of other sites don't.

i.e. TomTom can be inaccurate(not sure if it is always a mapping issue. I have had it tell me to turn left when even the map didn't show a true left turn)

I still say sprintnav/telenav is the best if you have a data plan to go with it. Those other programs are hogs and still only offer the same thing as telenav.

No, almost all of those programs store the map rather than call it from a web server. I don't know if you have noticed, but Sprint has HORRIBLE coverage in rural areas.

You can use telenav, but just hope you never have to drive on any backroads

I use TomTom 6 (6.032) and love it. I drive truck 48 state and TomTom has only been wrong on directions about 1% of the time (I also run ALK PC Miler 20 and double check my routes... Don't want to find a low bridge or restricted road!). Telenav is useless for anyone traveling any distance, and is bad enough on 1x. Just my $.02 worth.
