your friends a j-a$$
if that was the case we could all use our phones as scanners and scan anything we wanted.
What he has or thinks he has seen is a joke video or is an s$$ trying to impress you. It would be cool though. Give him a wet willy for all of us at ppcgeeks ![]() |

naw because ive seen him do it, ive even scanned my own fingerprint to see if it would allow me to get in and it scanned my fingerprint but denied me entry, and then he did it and it let him in

its fake you press nothing before you hit scan and it comes back denied but if he presses per example 8 before hand and than presses scan he will have it come back as being passed.

There are fingerprint scanners on other devices such as laptops. However the touchscreen on the Mogul cannot detect anything except the position of a touch. It is the same on the Treos. There is no way for the screen to tell what the finger looks like, or even that it is a finger. They can only detect the position of "something" touching the screen, whether it be finger, stylus, pen, etc.

Oh I see... He said you scanned the SCREEN. Thats definitely not possible. Like stated above, the screens are only PRESSURE sensitive.
There are fingerprint scanners on PDA's though. Just not on the screen EDIT: I did find this http://www.vgapocketpc.com/archives/...lcd-screen.php It says that Casio has developed one, but it is still in testing I think |

This would be really cool if this was something you could get on your phone. It sure would keep everyone out of your text and pictures....lol
