Sero Question

Right now I'm on a family plan, three lines. My phone was added as the third line at $10/mo. I want to get out of it and open my own sero account with my mogul. So is there any way that I can open a sero without having to get a free phone, and is there anyway to port my number. I've read that you have to port it to a prepaid phone and then back, is this the only way?
thanks

You may want to try retentions. I have heard of them switching you over.

If you are out of your contract porting to a prepaid and back to sprint is going to be the easiest way. You can get a cheap refurb go phone from AT&T for $10. Also if you are not under contract just get the free phone and once you get it just have them do an ESN swap to your Mogul. That way you can sell the freebie on ebay.

Acutally my friend has a similar problem, hes under contract for 3 lines, and he wants to get a sero line. Is it possible to swap numbers on the devices. example he has a katana on the shared plan, and he gets the touch. HE wants his number from the katana on the touch and vice versa.is it possible?

its very tough to port a sprint number to a sero account without porting it to another carrier first, i know this first hand. i have also heard of ppl having issues with porting back from a prepaid phone ie tracphones

what i did successfully was port to verizon (30 days free, got charged nothing after everything was returned) and ported back. no headache, no worries, hope that helps.

The only thing I can tell you is persistence. It's going to take a long time, but it's do-able. You just need to get to the right CS rep who will do it.

even though customer service is told directly not put existing customers on any sero plans, some reps still do it. most of the time the rep will just tell you to go thru sprint.com/sero. but you should try to just ask before going another route

Unfortunately you are late.Last month there was a thread on how to get out of your sprint contact without an ETF. I called and said that I wanted to cancel because of this. To make a long story short. I have 2 phones on a sero plan. 500 minutes each, Unlimited data, and text (because I signed before 2/14/08) on both phones for $30 each.

Phone 1 $85 with data to $30 + tax with free data and text.
Phone 2:$30 with nothing to $30 + tax with free data and text.

I'm now happy.

You don't know what it is but you asked sprint for one? ](*,) Please search these forums, or pretty much any search engine. There is more than an abundance of info on it.
