NEW Esmertec JAVA from kaiser 6.1

not sure if this is the right forum, mods feel free to move. I pulled the new esmertec java off the 6.1 kaiser, and have uploaded the OEM to my titan dir. I must say it runs MUCH faster and supposedly supports 3d.

If you're up for converting the OEM to a cab, feel free. Im not doing it.

If someone would be so kind...

*I really wouldn't mind learning "how to" myself....*

xweaponx 02-04-2008 10:04 AM

no2chem,

If you wouldnt mind sending me the OEM I will attempt to package it into a .cab. I have been experiementing with .cab creating and I will see what I can do. I will test before releasing of course...

stroths 02-04-2008 10:23 AM

Put the OEM in a custom build of your 5038 release and it works nicely and in full screen.

I also got rid connections permission prompt in Opera mini by following the instructions below. The only difference is that I made the modification to \Windows\appdb\selector.utf directly on my phone with Total Commander.

Anybody know of 3d applications that can be tested with this?

Thanks.

mikee4fun 02-04-2008 12:06 PM

Is this only for midlets or is this a VM Machine for pocket ie?

pixelwix 02-04-2008 02:50 PM

anybody making a cab out of this?

click 02-04-2008 03:15 PM

I just finished building a new rom based on no2chem's **38 basekit, and it built in perfectly. I am still setting up the phone, but will keep you posted on performance issues

superevilllama 02-04-2008 03:21 PM

oooo sounds great! Can the same be done with the newer windows live version? Would love to have that!

Anyone? I'd like to know too.

Nevermind. I googled it. It appears it's a JVM.

I downloaded the .cab, but I get this error when trying to open it.

! C:\Documents and Settings\Clark\Desktop\JRebeiro_EsmertecJbed.zip: The archive is either in unknown format or damaged

any ideas?

AstronusX 02-04-2008 05:51 PM

It works for me, you might need to clear the cache and redownload again

Unzip it first, then upload the .cab to your phone and try again? Or are you unable to Unzip? if you can't unzip then download it again

I downloaded it twice with the same result. On the third time it worked. The only thing I did different the third time is rename the file.

neodorian 02-04-2008 06:37 PM

Works great for me. I had to reinstall Opera Mini and recompile but that's all. Seems to work fine.

I've been trying a bunch of different programs like this trying to get my work mainframe emulator to work on my pocket pc, but I haven't had any luck.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but anyone willing to help me get my work mainframe emulator working on my PPC please PM me.

Thank you for posting the cab.
I got the program working, just not with my emulator. I think it has to do with the fact that none of the web browsers fully support java applets.

b_hound 02-05-2008 12:12 AM

Any luck getting this to work with the Gmail Java App ?

it does work with mini, just go download a new one, it'll overwrite the old and keep all the settings/bookmarks, thats what i did and it worked like a charm

Thanks, It works after I reinstall Opera Mini

mswlogo 02-05-2008 01:53 AM

What features does the new Java gain over the old Esmertec JAVA?

My mini opera has been running good but I need little incentive.

blue4shizzle 02-05-2008 02:13 AM

love it.. been testing it and it works flawlessly.. so far that is, haha

just as a test i played a flight simulator with this new java and it is alot smoother than the old one...also it is true full screen.

heavyd 02-05-2008 05:36 AM

Downloaded directly to my TOUCH. Works great with Opera Mini. Any version would always freeze up with the stock java app. Now I want to try some of my apps from my Samsung m 610. Do I just need the jar file, or the jad file along with it? THANKS again for a great app.

xweaponx 02-05-2008 10:08 AM

I am using this Esmertec JAVA build with Opera Mini 4 and it hums along quite nicely. A very good release for using in conjunction with Opera on WM 6.1...

jrebeiro 02-05-2008 10:18 AM

Technically I think you only need the JAR. If you are downloading apps off the web and are installing locally just let JBed search your device and pick the proper app from the list.

Also, GMail and Opera Mini work great in this version. I am actually posting from Opera Mini right now. Thanks to no2chem for providing the files!

qwho 02-05-2008 01:41 PM

In this version can you enter text right into fields rather than pressing enter and entering text on the white screen, and then going back to the page and having it appear there? If that's the case I'll install it right now...

Tenny 02-05-2008 02:18 PM

Opera Mini & Gmail work great for me, although I do have one issue...

Before I was able to set a link to open Opera / Gmail automatically, but those link's no longer work. With the gmail link, it says it cannot find the suite, then defaults back into the Java, while the Opera one goes white (and it says JBed NativeUI where the Start is) and then it goes back to the home screen. The shortcut I am using is:
"\windows\jbed.exe" -run s0_

Depending on the program obviously

double check your suite numbers. they probably changed.

freeza 02-05-2008 02:34 PM

Happened to me too. you need to reinstall your java apps and everything should start working normally.

That seems more like an issue with Opera than an issue with the Java VM you are using.

nswenson 02-05-2008 04:55 PM

I installed this new java client on my Sprint Vogue and it works PERFECTLY. You should post this stuff in the general forums as it's not specific to the Mogul. This new JBed is very fast, possibly faster than the Cloudyfa release I was using before this.

Thanks!
Nate

blue4shizzle 02-05-2008 05:05 PM

ok i found the first minor bug.. when you have the java running your weather wont update on the touch.. you have to close it so it will do so
