dcd just posted a newer version of JBed on xda-developers:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=277

It's version 20071130.4.1 as per the cab name. I am installing it now to see if there is much difference.

Anyone know how to update the Opera Mini shortcut for this? I had one I always used for the old java, but it doesn't work for this one.

This is Jeodek, not Jbed (both from Esmertec), two different beasts. JBed is better than Jeodek in every way, but one. Jeodek supports the internal GPS for java midlets. This is the same Java Midlet manager that's included in the stock Sprint ROM.

What does your current shortcut look like? Make sure it's pointing to jbed.exe, and not to jeodek.exe.

Opera Mini & Gmail work great for me, although I do have one issue...

Any way to make it stop asking if it is OK to connect ?

You have to HEX edit the selector.utf file in \Windows\Appdb

There is a utility to do this for you here:

http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/ppc-6...tml#post656281

You can also read the entire thread for details on how to manually HEX edit the file if you don't trust the guy who made the fix. I use the fix everytime I add a new app and it works like a charm.

Stupid question, but what benefits will this have for people that dont run Opera browsers or use gmail in-browser? I'm late to the party but i dont get what the hype is about. break it down for me yo! TIA

It's a Java MIDLet manager. It lets you run native Java Applications under Windows Mobile. Some of the popular MIDLet's happen to be Opera Mini and GMail. This does not do anything to your browser.
