No WM 6.1 in the Feb Update?

So I guess the leaked 3.16 Rom pretty much rules out WM6.1 making it into the Q1 update as some sources have alluded to.

Update January 17, 2008 #2: A very interesting new response has just surfaced! One HTC support employee has stated that an internal e-mail has just gone around saying they are sorry about the issues (apologies seem to be getting more frequent in their replies) and a fix is forthcoming fast, so watch the HTC e-Club. Apparently he also let the February ROM update slip again. He also let slip the update will likely come with WM 6.1 - which would be awesome, if it's true. He still requested more reports and videos, though. In the meantime, some other people have again let us know that they are still getting the "no patches planned" response.

Any thoughts? This was always just rumor but it seems much less likely now that we have seen a leaked ROM with no WM6.1.

Let's be honest..The inclusion of 6.1 was just wishful thinking.

Well, in theory couldn't they have just been testing the drivers and radio with 6.0 in that test ROM? I'm not pressed for 6.1 although it will be nice of someone eventually cooks us up one. A stable and working version of the 3.16 ROM would be fine for now. Anyway, I have no idea of the system requirements of 6.1 so it might run piss poor on 64mb anyway.

I'm sure Microsoft doesn't want to give away their biggest Mobile update in uhhh 4 years or so, you can bet it will be for sale

Pretty much. The Hermes 6.1 OS has already been leaked, and I believe he's looking into whether it can be used for the Titan.

Im hoping for a memleak fix in 6.1. The native threaded SMS jumped out at me too. I dont recall much more that was real important to me at the time. Even a slight performance increase would be worth it.

Any word on if they have handled call waiting and switching better in 6.1? I'm amazed with how bad it is in Wm6 right now. It's amazing how many basic functions most phones do well that WM6 fails at. That said, I wouldn't trade this phone for anything available on Sprint right now. And the only thing better is a Mogul w/ more memory (i.e. Tilt).

no,unfortunately. WM6.1 isn't the great miracle everyone is making it out to be. That being said, I still am posting a WM6.1 rom tonight sometime. And dcd probably is too.

Out of curiosity, are these beta 6.1 Titan ROMs going to include the added functionality found in the recent leaked test ROM or are they more a port of the leaked GSM 6.1 to the CDMA Titan?

Either way I look forward to seeing what you come up with. It's stuff like this that keep me checking this board multiple times a day =D>
