Exactly. PRL=Preferred Roaming List. And as AnthroMatt said...it's very rare that updating your PRL will affect your phone in any way.

Qwest SIDs were switched from "Roam" to "Home" in the subsequent PRLs, but that is about the only time I can think of when a PRL will change much for native service. Cell companies only have themselves to blame for this...they "market" PRLs as a way to get new towers, when in reality they could throw up 1,000 new towers a day and so long as the SIDs are already in the PRL, the phone will "see" the new towers without any kind of update. |
