xv6800: Why this shell for VZW?
Really retro-blah. The oddest part surprisingly is its not even black.
http://www.slashphone.com/media/data...zon-2007-4.jpg Was this the design made before the Mogul we know of now that Sprint has?: http://www.uberphones.com/photos/200...gul-update.jpg IMHO the xv6700 that came before it, looked a tad better than the Sprint offering with the only real cosmetic change being the color (Black) but this time, I looked in my local VZW store to finally eye it in person a couple of weeks ago. I was expecting to see a black & red version of the Mogul but it was a completely different shell & it did not share any VZ theme at all. IMHO fugly. :disgust: My thoughts/opinion on the look aside, my real question is why did VZW choose this design shell over the Mogul's shell? Is it the 1st design of the Titan or was it designed this way to Verizon's request? Sure its a business phone but even the vx6700 didn't stray from the theme. |
Even worse than the ugly version of the PPC 6800 is the outrageous data plans on Verizon.

I don't care for the blue either! What were they thinking????? BLUE! A Business phone and it's BLUE??? Maybe if I worked at IBM ("Big Blue") I'd like that, but I don't!
The guy who picked the color is in drug rehab! (or should be anyway) |

True, very True. I just left VZW a few month's ago in search of cheaper data. Man Sprint SERO rocks. When VZW asked me why I was leaving I told them they had a great network but until they quit treating PDA phones like they were laptops connected to their network with an always on internet connection, I had no plan to come back. I didn't even try to tell them about SERO plan prices, but She didn't even believe me when I told her that PowerVision for PDAs was only $15 bucks a month. I was really planning on waiting for VZW to get the 6800. I had been waiting for over 6 months for it. Man, am I glad I switched. Their version is UGLY. Just my .02 (I'm sure there are plenty of people who think it looks better than the Sprint version) |

once you get it, i actually dont mind the blue color. its not like this neon blue or anything, it blends in with the brushed metal. the thing about the sprint i wouldnt like is the button layout of the answer end buttons. then again, id gladly take that for a data plan i could afford!!

The Alltel version is the best. Looks just like the Sprint version but its black.

I don't mind that the vz version looks a little different than the rest of the crowd, even kinda like the color, it provides contrast, and looks sharp. If you don't like it, that's fine, but I do.

I could live with the blue but the blocky button style makes me want to want to throw it at the designer.

even without SERO, no provider comes close to the $15 dollar unlimited data (which can be had for $10 without pic mail)
