I did a search in another program, and the AIM file posted there works GREAT for me. I get IM's very fast from my buddies, and when I signed on and made a phone call there was no disconnection to the service. I love it! The only bad side is that you might have to register to this forum website in order to view the file, but its worth it because hte AIM program is exactly like my computer. Heres the link:

I have IM+, and under connections there is a feature for auto connect, you can set the number of attempts also. Just and FYI

Nobody uses OctroTalk? It's technically a beta but its free (for now) and is just a nice clean messaging client that works with AIM, MSN, Yahoo, and ICQ. It reconnects after a phone call and has an option to only notify you if you are not actively chatting. Sometimes there are connection issues, but I still prefer it over IM+ and Palringo.

None of them work that well, i guess i should say...they work well when they connect, which is usually about 50% of the time you want to use them

EDIT: my Samsung A900 worked great, I will sell it to you cheap!

I'm using Agile Messenger personally. It seems to work just fine. Reconnects after calls also.I have not done extensive testing with it however, so I am not sure whether it tries during calls or what it does. But I haven't had any problems with it.
