hey buddy, i re-wrote the app today. give the 2.0 version a try. some other users on the other sites are saying it is now working. altho the old version worked on the mogul.

anyhow this version is better than the other. it doesn't get over written by the carrier now at all when roaming or what not.

Weird. I installed it and it asked what I wanted instead of "Sprint PCS" but it never changes anything. I soft reset but still no dice.

edit: It works on the S2U2 screen but not on the Today/Home screen.

edit 2: now it sporadically works on both screens but it still flashes "sprint pcs" every so often.

it writes at 2 second loops, there will be times that you see it for just a second.

what are you using on the today/home screen to access carrier info?

HTC Home Customizer. Don't worry though, I just uninstalled it. It was a cool app but my home screen would stay "Sprint PCS" for hours before switching over to the altered one and then there and the S2U2 screen would constantly flash from Sprint to whatever I set it to.

Also does that kill the battery to keep writing to the file every 2 seconds or does it only do it when the phone is awake?

hmmm, sounds weird.

yes the app only runs when the phone is awake and you will not see any battery difference. battery is to important to ppc devices.

copy - fyi - v2 is giving me the registry errors sometimes on my mogul 6800 but orig version never did.

hmmmm. what do you mean by registry errors. it seems that the only complaints come from the mogul users. i would lie to fix this but without the phone to test on... it's hard. if someone can give me some better details... PM me.

Works fine on my XV6800. :) Occasionally it flashes Verizon Wireless instead of VZW but not for long.
