I don't have the link available to give credit but this works perfectly:
-----------------------------------------
Navigate to HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\

In here there are a bunch of keys named Dtmf which represent all the keypad keys [0-9, #, *]

Rename Standard DWORD parameter Sound to Sound1
Create new String Parameter Sound
Assign value *vibrate* to this new parameter.

Save and exit, test it, then go back and do the same for all your keys, sorted.
------------------------------------
Thank you to the original poster.

I wouldn't say it works perfectly. It is very possible when dialing fast to get no vibration from this while still registering the numbers, just as it is possible to get no key flash normally (or maybe it's just so short that it's impossible to notice, but the key flash problem was one of the big reasons I was hoping for vibration feedback) Nice idea but I don't think a simple reg hack will do the trick as it's the dialer that seems to be setting the duration. There should be a short but minimum duration on the buzz. I'm guessing that a good solution would have to be built into the dialer app.

I agree..If you messed around with the Voyager you would exactly know what I mean. The vibration is just enough feedback to let you know you hit a key. Maybe it is not possible on the 6800.

Re: Short Vibrate for Key touch

Hey I did the registry thing and it worked sweet.. Where is the registry value for screen taps, im sure we should be able to do the same thing.. I don't care if it's perfect, just would like to set the soft or loud tap to vibrate instead of making a noise.. Let me know if anyone knows where this is.. The closet I can find is HKCU\CONTROLPANEL\SOUNDS\KEYPRESS.. Maybe it's in there

Re: Short Vibrate for Key touch

This is the program I use. It works great. Short vibrates, If you hold down the button, it vibrates the whole time. This is where I got it from. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?p=1685449

Only issue is when I am in a call, and I press the button, instead of vibrating, it makes a chime sound (I don't like that).

Oh, and I'm sure you can figure out the attached file is really a cab file, not a zip file. Just delete the .zip extension.

some of you reports receiving an error when trying to install it "ncompatible device" so I made it working by making new cab, Installed and tested in my 6800 and its working like a charm, enjoy!
