I'm in the same boat that I'm trying to find a BT headset for calls. I'm not too interested in hearing music.

I'm worried if I pick one up, that the Mogul may have issues with. Anyone have any BT headsets that work fantastically with their mogul? Thanks in advance.

I have the Jabra BT8010 and I use it everyday. It's 2 pieces; one is the main module/BT headset and the other tethers to the main module to give you stereo sound. It will ALSO accept calls while tethered and streaming music from your device. A LCD screen w/ software provides the caller ID info for up to 30 people. Plus vibrate. Comfortable to wear...

Why 1.2? Simple... I think you'll find that most headsets are only BT 1.2, and the reason is that headsets don't need more than BT 1.2 for phone calls, A2DP, or AVRCP! So why would you create one that is compatible with LESS devices?

BT 2.0 improves on many things, mostly data rate and encryption, but in general these are not things that are necessary for a headset.

Thumbs up Motorola S9 headphones

After reading what everyone had to say, I figured I would throw in my 2 cents. I purchased the Motorola S9 bluetooth headphones about 2 months ago and here is my experience.

I first used the headphones before the ROM upgrade to my Mogul or PPC6800 to improve bluetooth functionality was released. I was blown away at how clear and crisp the music was instantly. Holding conversation was not that great at first however. Then after the ROM update was released I noticed the same crisp clearness with music, only now, the functionality of using these headphones to carry a conversation was drastically improved.

One thing about these headphones I really really enjoy is the range! My standard bluetooth earpieces start breaking up when I move only short distances away from the phone. Yet with these headphones, I am able to leave the phone in my room and walk all around my house without any interuptions! Im not sure wether to give the credit to motorola or to HTC for the strength of the bluetooth, but Im guessings its a combination of both.

The controls on the headphones take a little getting used to, as they are touch sensitive. you barely have to touch the headphones to change the track, increase or decrease volume, or answer a call. Once you get used to it, its really awesome though.

As far as the issues with the sweat resistance go, I havent had a chance to get sweaty with these headphones yet. Im hoping they hold up well however. I saved my reciept just in case. I purchased these headphones from Radio Shack on sale for 89.99, but they are available on ebay for much cheaper. Im nervous about purchasing motorola products via ebay though, because I once recieved a hs850 headset that was advertised as OEM genuine motorola, but when I recieved it and checked certain things out from a website that indicates a counterfit product, realize I had recieved a fake product. I will say that even though it wasnt a true motorola product, it was a very useable and quality product, and It still works after using it over a year.

The 3 different earpieces that come with the S9 also make it a great product, since you can choose the piece that is most comfortable. Plus when you are listening to music and recieve a phone call, the music stops, and then when your done with your conversation, the music resumes! The bottom line is that I believe this is a great product, and worth every penny I paid for them. I hope this review helps and if anyone has any specific questions you think I may be able to answer please just ask! thanks

Plantronics Voyager 855

I just got the Plantronics Voyager 855 and I love it!!! I have tested it with a Mogul (new rom update), Apache with WM6 Cooked rom, and my Sony Vaio laptop. The multipoint works very well, as I am able to listen to music through my laptop's bluetooth port and have the phone ring and take the call. It also works while on a phone call listening to music on the phone. You simply slide the boom back and forth to start and end the call. Microsoft Voice Command works well once I disabled the confirmations. My girlfriend was not able to tell I was on a Headset. The music quality is great. I carried a conversation in the snow today and it has no problems. It wont come loose especially if you wear the loop thing that goes over the ear. The buds that came attached out of the box were soo comfortable, Much more comfortable than my girlfriend's S9 (which she uses daily to work out).

Hope this helps

Josh

I've been looking at the 855 too, but the reviews I've seen on its call quality have put me off. How is it in noisy environments? I have a Nxgen 5500 which worked great in places like noisy NYC streets, but a recent fall into a puddle has totally ruined it. I'd like to replace it with a stereo headset but so far all have relatively poor call quality and the 8010 is way too geeky looking for me. I'm using my old Cardo 700 now, but it's useless in anything noisier than a car with the windows rolled up.

@ Josh

Just to clarify, are you saying that the Plantronics Voyager 855 works well with the Mogul? (Cuz you mentioned you also have an Apache.)
