Broken Digitizer

So the long and the short of it is my friend, who's on my plan, has a Mogul, I punched his pocket and I broke the digitizer. I have Asurion, but I'd rather not shell out the $100 just to get another crappy Mogul. I'm weighing my options...

1) Buy a new digitizer off of eBay
2) Call Asurion
3) Go to a Sprint store praying for a replacement

Here's the kicker, we were getting ready to call Sprint because the phone barely works anymore. So I'm wondering if anyone's successfully gotten a Sprint store to take back a phone with a busted digitizer. If not, is it hard to fix? And after a fix, would Sprint then replace it?
