(Exclusive) Sprint Touch QuickLauncher Today Plugin by poorlyduck
 

Finally you guys will complete everything touch in your Mogul by installing this Ultimate quicklauncher made by JUVS over XDA and Moded by me with all new icons and modified XML to match the sprint Touch. I thought Most of you guys would like blue icons better to separate US from Touch users :) enjoy your new toy for the day.
The shortcuts I have in XML files, requires HTC album, Audio Manager and SprintTV, all Uploaded in this Forum, just do a search.

If you want to make your own shortcuts, there is a Portrait and landscape XML files, move them to your desktop from \Windows, open them in Notepad and change the path to what you want, then drag back to windows Folder and allow to overwrite the old files. The icons are litle bit tricky, it uses alpha channel, so if you are familiar with photoshop you'll figure how to make your own icons.

To be able to see windows folder in your computer you must open windows explorer, click in tools tab>Folder options>ViewTab and check View hidden files and folders.

here is the xml codes for portrait and landscape, customize them to whatever you want, after customized move it to \windows folder and allow to overwrite the original ones.

Landscape: open blank Notepad and paste this code there and save as ql_skin_l.xml

Portrait: open blank Notepad and paste this code there and save as ql_skin_p.xml

because of sprint TV wont work with MOgul anymore then I will change that icon to something else, dont know what will be useful for a replacement yet.

That icon is fine for most of us, I'm just going to change the link to TCPMP or something, very cool quicklink app! My mogul is now a Touch - too bad we don't have a flush screen.

Its been said on the Touch we can't change the links of our launcher because its embedded on the file.

So I made an attempt to install in on the Touch... It actually "overwrites" the original one. If I go into the Today settings and uncheck Quick Launch and try to have the Sprint Launcher, it still will bring up the custom one. interesting..

a few things tho. Is there a way to have the Photo Album open in landscape as it suppose to?

I have the photoalbum opens in the orientation where Im in. if you need to have two shortcuts, one for landscape and one for portrait, install this version of HTC album. http://rapidshare.com/files/65896991...bum_SPCeed.cab and then link to landscape shortcut or portrait shortcut. whichever you like.

just bumping this thread so it doesnt get lost, its great plugin and it definitely need to be looked at.

XML File Path for WINDOWS Live LAUNCHER
 

For this Plug, i have corrected the file path to launch Windows Live Search/Hotmail with the search button for the Mogul. Here are the files just drop windows folderin and soft reset. Please make sure plug is installed on main memory and you have installed windows live. You do not need to have that huge live sign in as it probably saps up some memory.
This is going to be an awesome plug as soon as the content managers allow us to get Sprint TV on the Mogul. TV will work best on the rev a speed anyway and so many people are complaing, they should get the mobi tv, its the same exact service......... Have heard the touch tv is ok but sometimes choppy, rev a will fix that too. Heres to 3.2 Peak mbps! And thank you to the developer of this plug for our mogul (touchgul?).

Well I got boared and bought the mobi TV pack again as it may be a month or 2 until Sprint TV and RevA are available. I now have an XML File to route this plug for windows live and Mobi TV. Here It is. Great thread please show some support

duck....gotta sayt that you have outdid yourself on the post....love the new look on my mogul....however, i am still the new guy and i am of course still having a few problems....the cube worked for a few and then wouldnt work anymore, so i removed it from the programs.....when the cube came up on my phone, i had a few x's that said add but when i whenat to add something to the cube, it automatically took me to contacts list on everyone of the slots....the icons for music, tv, picture viewer, and ect. are on my today screen, but i still cant get the big clock....i am running wm6 on my phone and when i did install the program, a box came up saying this is for an older version....some things may/may not work....well it was along them lines.....any help would be greatly appreciated......thanks in advance for any help......"the new guy"

YAY!!! i found this forum which is what I was looking for through another one-- but I still have a problem-- try as I might to follow the directions I just can't seem to get it to work for me--...
And I noted that some great people are posting the cabs with adjustments that they've made-- if someone has some spare time could you possibly create one where the magnifying glass brings up the programs window or file explorer-- and the tv launches the youtube website-- (I followed the instructions to have it as an icon in launcher-- so i followed those directions to get it into the windows\startmenu\programs folder i believe....) That would be the GREATEST!!!!

I want to change the sprint TV icon on the quicklauncher to be the calendar icon that is used on the cube, is this possible and how exactly would i go about this transformation?

LOL, I never have any issues with RAM on my 6800. I've run just about everything that can be run on this thing and tried to make it run out of memory and it didn't. Never got a memory error. With the right tweaks, and the right ROM, 6800s memory isn't too bad.

Enjoy your extra battery draining RAM and no hardware keyboard, no wifi, etc...

lol... i was really unimpressed with the touch, and glad i didnt try to get my mogul replaced with one... back on topic, i do love the cube, works perfectly for me, although does conflict a little bit with slide2unlock when i bring it out of sleep... nothing serious, its just if i dont get the slider just right the cube pops up... its definitely worth it... the only issue i am having is getting the htc album installed, its giving me the 'does not have trusted certificate' or whatever warning... im just getting around to looking about why im getting and a workaround if possible as i dont remember having this error before, and i know its not a problem with the cube... either way, thanks for your efforts and keep up the great work so my ppc can look cooler than anyone elses...

how do you edit the XML files?? everytime I try to copy from my computer to the phone it says "unefficient memory, read only file, or program is open".... I have the plug in disable btw.

Add S2U2 as an exception in the FTouchFlo config file (\Program Files\Touch Flo - or something like that.... config file ends in .txt and is just a text file, exception list at end)

Soft reset, and S2U2 will not conflict with touch flo any more.

Back on topic - nice launcher. But at this point, between the cube, the today launcher I already had with small buttons but which works with the depad, the Start menu, and the WM5NewMenu, I have more ways to launch stuff then I have stuff to launch :D

I'm new to the Sprint Mogul world so can someone tell me exactly what to do to get the Cude theme/format thing

some files if used in your PPC, you wont be able to replace them from your computer to your ppc, if you want to modify the xml file, you need to move it from your device to your computer, edit it to what you want, its all about paths, if you know the path of any program you have installed in ur ppc, for example \windows\htc album.exe or \windows\start menu\programs\HTCalbum.lnk, .lnk is always a shortcut of the app you have, you can either use shortcut or the original .exe file in your path. then save it in your computer and move it to storage card first, then by using resco explorer or any oher explorer beside OEM file explorer, copy the xml and paste where it should go, allow to overwrite the original and you're done.

download the .zip files, extract to your computer, move the extracted .cab files to your ppc device, from you ppc click on the files and begin to install. after you install the cube.cab reset your device and it should work.

i only have this part. circled in yellow on my today page. i thought removing every other item would solve it, it did not.

what else you guys wanna run in ur today screen? the title says Sprint touch quicklauncher today plugin, means what you have circled in yellow that what this post its all about.

hey duck thanks for posting this i just have one problem. i edited the xml for the icons to do what i wanted but the search icon and tv icon are just black boxes. i made the search i edited it to live search and the tv for tcpmp. any ideas.

Yeah anyone who downloaded his xml will get that. The icon names were changed, but icons were not included in the zip file.

Here is what I did. The magnifying glass goes to windows live maps, the picture links to the contacts app (oem version) the headphones link to windows media, the opera icon links to opera mini (ymmv, you might need to change that link to be mapped to a shortcut for opera mini on your device. (Just edit the xml) The Slingplayer icon goes to slingplayer.

Place all of the items in the zip into your windows directory and restart the plugin.

i got it fixed. next time i wont be lazy and use someone else's xml files just find them myself next time.

BTW... for those looking to make changes to the shortcut paths, the files to look for under your phone's windows directory are:

ql_skin_l.xml

and

ql_skin_p.xml

Link to your phone through Activesync and browse to the windows folder. Copy the files over to your pc's desktop after enabling the "see hidden files" option as Poolyduck said in the first post. Right click on each and select open with notepad. You will then be able to edit the shortcut locations. I hope this helps newbies looking to do this.

BTW. Does anyone have a good TomTom and Picsel browser icons I can use with this? Thanks.
