Sprint ## code explanation
OK, without going into too much detail as to why (any time someone mentions integrated GPS around here things go into a tizzy!) I was hoping someone with a Sprint Mogul might be able to tell me exactly what screen you see when you dial ##3282 (##DATA).
It appears that this screen is the key to enabling developer root for the Java machine, but I can't get to it on my Alltel 6800. With Alltel, dialing ##3282 places a phone call to Alltel data support, so if I have this screen available it is apparently a different ## code. If I knew which screen you Sprint users were seeing, I could then try to track down the Alltel equivalent, and go on with my (probably pointless but at least I have to try it in the name of science) research. I assume it's something different than EPST or DIAG, since I'm very familiar with both and neither have the setting I'm looking for (it's CERT, if you were curious). Thanks... and I can't let a week go by without asking... Any word on the WM6 kitchen for the Titan? :-D |
I believe you need to press ##DATA(Send) on Alltell ROMs to get to the screen.
|
I am a bit confused. Do you need someone to post their ##DATA# screen information?
I don't see CERT on either of the menus when I enter that code. |
Actually, the title of the screen is EPST.
Username and Andvanced are the 2 menus I see after selecting View. If I need to I can grab my MSL, I don't want to get off the couch, and see if it offers me any additional menus when I try to "Edit". Lonzo |
No, as I said above ##3424 attempts to place a call to Alltel data support.
Let me rephrase... when you do this on your Sprint phone, what is the title at the top of the screen? That's what I am trying to track down. Once I know what screen I'm looking for, I should be able to figure out how to get to it. Keep in mind that this is a native Allltel 6800... not a Sprint that's been flashed with the Alltel ROM. |
As said above, the title is EPST.

At least now I know what I'm looking for. Thanks! |

If I'm not mistaken, for this thread http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=11541 , TC1 has what you're trying to do. (post #7 & 10) |
answerman i agree with you on the gps comments on here
htc made these phones with gps, and i've seen it work on the tytn and on the mogul in asia even on the touch. If you want call htc and ask them yourself, the carriers are the ones that block the gps chipset on the phone. I wanted to scream when i saw the tytn with working gps in hong kong, since then i came back called HTC and the confirmed that the phone does have gps chipset but Sprint blocked it. Like you i've been on a quest to get this to work but my knowledge of these things are limited |
