If you're looking fstrictly for performance (speed), then flash with DCD's ROM. But if you use bluetooth a lot, then you want to flash with either 2.08 or 2.09 ROM with 1.40 or 1.47 radio...for best overall performance.

Cool

Personally I use the Colonel's Oct. 21 rom. Lots of applications, stable with no crashes. BT is not a problem and very functional, especially the front screen....

You could go with Colonel's ROM but it is packed with tons of applications...which is something I didn't want. I wanted to be able to customize my PPC with just the apps that I wanted and not the stuff that I never use.

I wanted the performance speed of the 2.16 ROM but with stability, which is basically non existent.

So I got rid of the 6800 instead...

What did you end up getting...a Touch? I know a lot of people are going this route but I don't think the Touch is Rev. A upgradable which is a possible drawback.

Treo 755p. I'm done with windows mobile for a long time until it gets better.

I'll upgrade to the new treo if it is good enough later.

I text/im/email more than i make calls, so no hardware keyboard is fairly worthless for me.

It is. It runs almost identical hardware to the mogul, so their chipset is also upgradeable to Rev A, we're just waiting for MS to finish support on it.

Drawbacks are no hardware buttons (really a personal preference thing) and lack of WiFi.

for the sake of the wifi argument... i actually used mines today and I need that on my phone.... after letting my phone sit for a little while after flashing... im actually not having any problems with the 2.16 rom with the 1.40 radio.
