Soft Reset needed to reset today screen

Not sure why - but after I hard reset my p4000 (wm6), I now have to reset my device if I change the today screen inorder for the changes to take affect. is anyone else experiencing this issue?

If so, perhaps there is a system hack to enable a refresh of the today screen if changed?
