Something interesting though is that if I open up a program without shutting off bluetooth the dpad works in that program. I'm beginning to think this could be a compabatibilty issue with something on the home screen. The only extras I have installed on the home screen are live search and the HTC home plugin.

BTW my bluetooth doesn't shut itself off. I've had it on and connected to my car for 1 hour straight with no problems.

K, I am going to go without my HTC Touch Home Screen and see what happens..

maybe a little off topic, but does anyone know BT status of the telus rom? maybe at this point we need to locate the best of all available BT drivers and use them.

I was told by HTC that one is being worked on.. The Telus rep I spoke with had no idea !

so at this point who bloody knows !

Hey guys, my reg edits only prolong the bluetooth from turning off. It still turns off after a longer period now. Sorry, I was hoping this would help. I will still look at the driver issue. Perhaps someone could extract the Bluetooth driver from the Altell rom and make a cab?

I logged in to post that scenario. I have found as long as the device is plugged into power, BT seems to stay on. It stayed on all night and I had it plugged in with the power turned off. Today BT has turned off except when I have it plugged to power.

Edit: I spoke too soon. BT has been turning off while plugged in to power. I'm trying to log when it turns off.

also, when BT is on for me, it causes freeze ups that do not occur with BT off.

this is unreal. i heard that the treo's also have BT issues.

besides blackberries, are there any smart phones that dont have BT issues?

on tmobile does the wing have issues? verizon smartphones?

This rom is really stable without bluetooth... I'm not seeing the memory leak that I was seeing before - provided that bluetooth is OFF..

Too bad I depend on bluetooth for everything:( (headset/stereo headset/gps)

yeah no reliable BT is a dealbreaker to me. a smartphone just isnt as comfortable as a flip for acting as a phone, therefore BT is much more important. also its the law in my state to use a headset, and the mogul having no real headset jack is a dealbreaker for a wired headset. oi vay.

if someone can tell me of a reliable smartphone with qwerty keyboard on another carrier i will leave sprint. this is ridiculous.

I am trying to pull the bluetooth drivers from an Altell rom dump and create a 'custom' rom file to flash. I will let you know how it goes.

Other carriers besides Sprint don't seem to have the same issues. That is the main reason I flashed to the Alltel Rom. Reading other forums, BT seems to be better on Treo's with AT&T and Alltel. Sprint seems to have BT issues on all their devices.

Here is what I got from HTC:
Thank you for your inquiry about bluetooth issue.

Sorry that you are having this issue. If you are having this issue with a Sprint Mogul Sprint will have to request a new ROM to fix this problem. Please contact Sprint to resolve this issue.

I hope we have answered your question in detail. Feel free to contact us again if you have any further questions.
