OK with BlueTooth off I am fine on using the D-Pad.. once I turn on BlueTooth the D-Pad dies after a few minutes.... I turn off Bluetooth and it's back to normal with the D-Pad

Same here - BT on, no D-Pad. BT off, D-Pad works.
With BT on the D-Pad will sort of work if you press it repeatedly... it's like only every so many presses actually does anything. I had this problem before installing any 3rd party apps, immediately after upgrading the ROM and after turning BT on. The arrow keys on the keyboard work, oddly - I though the D-Pad just sent arrow key presses, but apparently not. |

It gets even weirder, for me at least.
Turn bluetooth off: dpad works. Turn bluetooth back on: dpad still works. Leave bluetooth on, turn phone off, turn phone back on: dpad breaks. Turn bluetooth off, turn phone off, turn phone back on: dpad works. I think the issue is when the phone comes out of standby with bluetooth turned on, the dpad breaks. If bluetooth is off, you turn the phone on, and then turn bluetooth on, only then does it appear to break the dpad. Can anyone else try this to confirm/deny? |

CALL AND COMPLAIN TO SPRINT RIGHT AWAY!
My problem is even worse... at least its just your D-Pad- my mogul won't come out of standby if the power button is pressed after using a bt headset on a call. The only solution is to soft-reset or remember to turn off BT before putting it into standby. This is NOT ACCEPTABLE! Call tech support right now and tell them stuff isn't fixed!! (btw, those of you afraid to call tech support because of bad experiences need not worry anymore! They've gotten a LOT better recently- my last 3 tech support calls were picked up within 10 seconds by an American who spoke perfect english and knew what the heck was going on. Very nice indeed. SO THERE'S NO EXCUSE! CALL, IT TAKES A FEW MINUTES!!!!) Last edited by dishe; 10-24-2007 at 05:31 PM. |

I'm having the same problems with my D-pad after the new ROM. This is a deal-breaker. I don't care if the Mogul can make cappuccino with the new ROM -- if the D-pad doesn't work reliably, the upgrade is a downgrade. Going back to old ROM.

FYI -- I tried an experiment just to be sure. Reinstalled the new ROM and did not interrupt the loading of the bloatware, with the hypothesis that there might be something in the bloatware package that was actually needed. No dice. The D-pad problems were exactly the same either way. And that's with zero third-party apps loaded.
