Extrom contents from Sprint 2.16 update

for anyone that is interested, here are the contents from the extrom on the new sprint update:
AutoRun.exe
Config.txt
DefaultRingtone.sa.CAB
GetGL.CAB
GroveMobile_pulgIn.sa.CAB
MoveLnk.sa.CAB
MP_CVSDcpl_20070129.cab
AddContact
AddContacts.exe

Looks very similar to old extrom contents with the exception of "AudioPara0330.sa.CAB" not being included

I have posted them to a rar on the FTP if anyone wants to test out or look into this further.

ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Titan/Users/Im...m_contents.rar

I know what some of them do by their names, but what do they most of them add/do?

Yeah, I'd love a breakdown of these so I can do the reset and then go back and run whichever ones I actually want

this is nice. it would be nice if we had a break down.

so let me get this straight...

i know we cant edit the extROM like we could with the 6700, but if we dont let the extended crapware install after hard reset, we could then just install the stuff we want from the rar. right?

another thing. i thought the sprint tsk and ondemand were in the extended rom?

AutoRun.exe
Config.txt
DefaultRingtone.sa.CAB
GetGL.CAB
GroveMobile_pulgIn.sa.CAB
MoveLnk.sa.CAB
MP_CVSDcpl_20070129.cab
AddContact
AddContacts.exe

---------------------------------

I believe this was covered in several other threads about ExtRom contents. Here though is my attempt to clarify:

---------------

AutoRun.exe - This is the autorun program which runs at boot to install these cabs
Config.txt - This is the install config settings
DefaultRingtone.sa.CAB - Default Sprint selected ringtones
GetGL.CAB - This installs the "Get Goodlink" shortcut which then lets you install goodlink
GroveMobile_pulgIn.sa.CAB - This installs the Sprint Music Store- not needed
MoveLnk.sa.CAB - This moves two internal shortcuts to the Programs menu - not needed.
MP_CVSDcpl_20070129.cab - Voice Dial applet cab, only install if you use the stock voice dial
AddContact - Sprint default contact info (*2, *4 etc) - not needed
AddContacts.exe - Installs sprint contacts

----------------

notice they removed

CAB: \Extended_ROM\AudioPara0330.sa.CAB - volume issues, they supposedly fixed this in the new rom.

----------------

Did i miss anything?

It appears they still have a couple of items stashed in the primary ROM, including "On Demand"

EXEC:\Windows\RUN_SPRINT_TSK.lnk - Custom Windows Theme located in \Windows\
CAB: \Windows\AudibleAir_SprintPPC.CAB - installs Audible software - not needed
CAB: \Windows\ondemand_6800_boot.arm.CAB - installs "On Demand" - not needed
CSV: \Windows\AudioPara.csv

----------------

The ExtRom on the Titan/6800 is ReadOnly, you can open it but not edit or change its contents. There really is not anything we need in the ExtROM, they cooked Java and most everything else into the primary ROM.

Gotcha, didnt realize "Grovemobile" was a reference to "Groove Server" but it makes perfect sense.

Groove Server:
