Bluetooth Headset issues

My headset, which worked fine via voice commands etc on my touch, now is finnicky and irritating. The main problem is that when I go to hang up on a call by pressing the headset button it now either does nothing or disconnects the headset and leaves the phone call connected.

I blame the locking software n the phone. I swear some of the **** on this phone is totally cool and then there is one little thing in the same app that makes it worthless.

so anyone else with similar issues? or know how to fix it?
