Can you tell me more about this "Automatic WiFi" please, this is the first I heard of it, and I searched, but got nothing but this thread. I have noticed that sometimes my WiFi will switch on all by itself, is this what you're talking about? |
Re: Anyone considering returning?
I've been struggling with this all month, but the droid hardware just blows the Imagio out of the water. Bigger screen, same size, pullout keyboard, better battery life, camera with flash, 16 gb SD card included, same price. Android will take some getting used to- especially trying to get wifi tethering on it. But there's no reason why I shouldn't try it. Plus it has Google Voice and Google Nav.
The two big criticisms of the Droid right now are the keyboard and lack of hard phone buttons. I can't really complain about the physical keyboard, because its the same thickness as the imagio, so if I just never used the keyboard, it would be the same as the imagio. And the lack of hard phone buttons... we'll see. So, I will return the Imagio and get the Droid. |
Re: Anyone considering returning?
Yup, I'm gonna send mine back and go back to my Titan for now. I think that I can wait for something with the Snapdragon chipset and maybe even winmo7 to come to VZW. I really have considered switching to another carrier, but VZW is the only service that doesn't really have any holes in the coverage around here. AT&T is hit or miss and Sprint is like throwing your phone into a black hole, and you can forget TMo. "Here" is New Orleans BTW.

Re: Anyone considering returning?
keepin mine. i upgraded from an omnia. no issues thus far. i could care less about getting a 1ghz DEVICE because i really have no need. its like having a sports car for your daily commute, its nice, but not necessary.

Re: Anyone considering returning?
I am keeping mine too. It's probably not the best phone out there but I think it's one of the best.
Droid does not have a dual mode for both GSM/CDMA, which is a turn-off for me as I travel abroad very often. |
Re: Anyone considering returning?
I decided to return mine today (before i saw this thread!)
Battery life has been fine, especially since it’s WinMo and it has this great big screen. The major downsides for me are: 1. soft resets every day or two. Partially due to memory leak and other syncing issues 2. clunky media integration. I wanted this to replace my iPod Touch, but getting all the video and podcasts on here and syncing is just a PITA. 3. Continuous problems syncing email on a timely basis with Exchange. This should be a no brainer, but I’m tired of having to redo the exchange relationship 4. Stylus. It’s 4Q 2009, I shouldn’t need a stylus for ANYTHING on a touch phone. HTC does a commendable job with TouchFLO, but it’s only a band aid. Too many scroll bars, small Xs, etc throughout the OS. This isn’t HTCs fault, it’s WinMo All in all, I WANT to like this phone. I WANT to like WinMo. After using every day for a few weeks I’ve come to the realization that it’s not ready. I’ll be returning mine this weekend. Not sure about getting the Droid (Moto Sholes), there is also speculation that an HTC variant of the Dragon will be coming to VZW prior to Christmas as part of the Droid line. I’ll consider a WinMo phone when WinPhone 7 comes out. |
Re: Anyone considering returning?
Keeping mine, I love it! Moved up from the titan. Don't miss not having the keyboard. Battery has been fine. I didn't like the touchflo so I ditched it for WinMo. Got a cool Heineken theme from XDA for it...I did have one lock up when using Opera, other than that it's been smooth sailing...

Re: Anyone considering returning?
I want everybody who is considering the passion to first know that is is an amazing device. The capacitive, multi-touch screen and snapdragon are by far the most capable out. If you are considering battery life, all android devices suck it like its going out of style especially under heavy use. The G1 is the worse, however the mytouch isn't that much better as my brother has one. I have flashed the passion's os and, though it might be better with a 1Ghz processor is really buggy at time, though beautiful. THERE IS A REASON IT COMES WITH 16GB CARD AND IS ONLY $100. I'm telling you windows and HTC have the ball finally rolling. I have had less than a handfull of issues with my imagio and have ironed them all out. I plan to upgrade again when verizon gets an hd2 equivalent. There are really cool things coming out for windows, and the hspl is coming, I remember being concerned about it for 3 other phones. And you're worried about only one carrier offering the imagio, sprint is getting a version and on top of that, it's freaking verizon, not boost mobile. Plenty of people will have them. Its only been out for two weeks. Be pateint.
P.S. I've spoken with scanR, gamefly, EA. They are all working on apps for windows mobile 6.5 http://www.phonearena.com/htmls/HTC-...45-p_3874.html |
