TF3D Screen Rotation Solved - All Screens!

OK, I was having issues with the screen rotation, even after installing ChangeScreen, only certain screens would rotate (like windows-deep messaging, opera). But these screens aren't related to TF3D, so I did some searching and here's what I found:

If you follow the actions below with a reg editor (I used Total Commander), and follow the steps, all screens on TF3D will rotate.

1. HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila -> add a new String Value with the name "EnableLandscape" and the value "true" (both without "")

2. HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\ModuleName -> add a new String Value with the name "TF3D" and the value "\Windows\manila.exe" (both without "")

3. HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\WhiteList -> add a new String Value: Name: "TF3D Value: "Manila" (both without "")

4. Change HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila DisableRotation value to 0 from 1.

All formatting should now be perfect.

do a softreset and its done ;)

Credit goes to
PhilXdaOrbit2 at http://forum.xda-developers.com/arch.../t-514323.html for this resolution.

Hope this works for anyone out there who couldn't get this going.

Note that I still have ChangeScreen installed, but I'm note sure if I need it, but don't want to risk uninstalling it :)

Did you try going into the changesreen config and telling it what screens you wanted it to rotate? That's all I had to do, didn't have to mess with registry edits.

I will confirm this works without the need for ChangeScreen. However as mentioned the formatting on most of the tabs is bad. I suspect there are no xml formatting files in this ROM for the Landscape mode so it tries to use the portrait which of course looks bad.

Home tab on TF3D2 looks great landscape, but the rest of them are messed up, low and to the left.

SWEET! Now fully works

OK, UPDATE:

After the preceding directions, go to HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila and change the DisableRotation value to 0 instead of 1.

All formatting is now perfect.

I've also updated the thread above....

Confirmed working!!! I had to remove the exception in changeScreen, but it works perfectly and looks damn nice.

Can some one please put this into a cab?

Cool that was the missing link, except for one last small thing. The icon bar in landscape looks fine the first time you switch but when you start sliding it only shows 6 icons at once and the far right icons dont show unless you're on them.

works great thanks for the find. I messed up the first time by spelling true with a capital T and that didn't work, so just a heads up to everyone make sure you type exactly as you read except for the " " marks. I am getting happier and happier with this phone (except for this darn memory leak that drives me insane), I may have a hard time turning this in when a TP2 becomes available if that gets fixed and a HSPL is available soon, I know its any time for the TP2. Once again great find and I am pleased.

that is a feature built into TF3D 2.XX, it allows for more screen real estate. there is actually a mod that allows the same in portrait.
