Re: Verizon Whitestone (CDMA Diamond 2) Pic/Specs

If sprint were to release this phone, would they need to get their own FCC ID? Or, if sprint uses the same model, is this approval good to go? Assuming sprint wants this phone, and plans to release it.

If I was with sprint, I would be excited about the Hero. They have updated the software for speed/ performance and it looks great. Smaller too. Hoping verizon gets it. If not, we have 3 great phones coming: TP2, diamond2, Omnia2. Things are heating up!

We will have to see....check the other post in this forum....I think sprint is getting topaz, the diamond 2 that looks like the GSM version. Verizon may be getting the exclusive on the whitestone.

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=80285

Also, check out PhoneArena.com. The whitestone has HSDPA in the list.

Re: Verizon Whitestone (CDMA Diamond 2) Pic/Specs

How does this compare to the old Verizon Touch?

Whitestone:
Qualcomm 7600 @ 528MHz
512MB ROM/256MB RAM

Verizon Touch:
Qualcomm 7500 @400 Mhz
256 ROM/ 128 RAM

Verizon Touch is very sluggish and non-responsive to gestures. I hate re-doing gestures over and over

Same with you bro, everything been great in the Northeastern area. It just Sprint have had this bad reputation in the past (I too bad bad coverage and services with them > 5 years ago) and it might take awhile for it to change.

As far as Asian model is concerns, I used to travel to SE Asia and loved how they set up everything. It cost me like $5 to buy a sim card with prepaid information on there with around $10 in calling credits. I just LOVE their free incoming option. Even if you got a $0 balance on your account, you would still be able to receive incoming calls regardless of the balance (though you can't make outcoming calls though).

As for white, dang, that is fabulous... but there are too many new phones coming out and it hard for someone like me to make up their decision

looks sexy! touch pro 2 has the keyboard that has my money being saved for that! the hardware keyboard is definately better then just the software keyboard, i was looking into some reviews on youtube at both phones, the diamond is nice, but any way you look at it, and put it, the diamond2 is always 2nd best, only to the touch pro2

Obviously "best" is in the eye of the beholder... just as easy to say that "any way you look at it", a physical keyboard is ALWAYS going to add significant weight and thickness (or volume) to a device and there are many that don't prefer that tradeoff...

Further, the TP had a huge number of reports that the cabling supporting the sliding QWERTY mechanism would fail. Hopefully HTC has fixed this on the TP2 and that overall the TP2 will be much more reliable than the TP has been.
