DRM and custom ROMs

Sigh... After being teased with new roms installed on my Imagio, they don't support DRM (protected media). NFSFAN I think maybe has DRM in his rom? Ugh... back to the VZW rom, like a kick in the neck.

Interesting- haven't gotten to that point (still flashing away) but yeah, NFSFAN Vogue ROMs used to support Zune transfers under WMP so it's possible and hopefully will be included in other ROMs.

DRM fails... in every single way. I refuse to put up with it. If I was you I would just delete/drop the file/service or whatever you use to get DRM crap and pirate the mp3s and njoy the ROM goodness and just buy CDs from the best that you find and go to some shows. :headbang:

AARGGHH! Hoist the DSL cable mattey! And make those DRM files walk the plank! Full sail ahead to MP3 freedom!

Haha, that's what I get for trying to go legit. Anyway, DRM hasn't been problematic, this aside, and if anything the vast libraries have helped me find music/etc.

I am completely legit with DRM-free MP3s. I can find most of what I want on Amazon's MP3 downloads service. What they don't carry, I just buy on CD and rip. It's not necessary to pirate your music to be free of DRM purgatory.

Agreed, but it feels like all that money was wasted. Ah well, on to build a new library... <sigh>

I mainly just like the community. They "Hey try these guys out!" kind of thing. Then I end up going to see them whenever they come around and own like 10 shirts. Hand someone a CD when I get the chance and get them hooked. Also I am a huge music lover I simply can't buy it all. If I went legit I would be bankrupt. I can only afford the best. The ones that are not so big I tend to buy the most from.

Some of you might find this interesting.

Pretty sure there are Apps out there that will strip your DRM from the files. Either through realtime playing and recording/recoding or just simply stripping the DRM and leaving you with a clean MP3. I've not used them...but have read enough articles on DRM to know they do exist. Wish I could recall a few names for ya :(

EDIT: Tunebite is one app that will convert DRM WMA to MP3
