3G speeds

We all know of the HTC issue with Imagio getting locked in 1X mode. I have trouble with very slow speeds after I shift from WIFI to 3G. Has anyone had this problem. Sometimes reset does work. Sometimes, the speed will work fine. Is this a software problem?
