where i get lost is on step number 3 i disable TF3d .. n what else?
my rule of thumb, and ive done this twice, including last night, worked flawless
  • plug your phone into a wall outlet
  • go to Settings > system > Power > advanced and turn off the last option "turn off device if not used for"
  • reboot your phone, disable TF3D within Settings > Today
  • install .NET 3.5
  • Install SDKCerts
  • reboot
  • install Sense 2011 cab as listed in first post *install it to main memory*
  • soft reset
  • Install MMS Fix (M2.5) (Verizon) (Valkeryie) *cab on first page*

good to go
ok i will do it .. when i get home thanx for the advise

Just a heads up, you do not need this cab (this one) anymore. I rebuilt the MMS Fix (M2.5) (Verizon) and should take care of all the remaining issues, it now contains the start menu fix and the keyboard vibration fix.

Re: Manila Sense 2.1 / 2.5 *Updated Feb 15, 2010*

I have downloaded 2.5 twice, hard reset countless times. This thing just will not install. I have followed the directions to a T and it will not install. Do not know what the issue is here.

Sorry to ask a silly question, but can I install .Net to the SD card, or does it need to be in the main memory?

You'll want it installed on the main memory.

Re: Manila Sense 2.1 / 2.5 *Updated Feb 15, 2010*

Ok, so I've gotten through installing the actual .cab file for the UI, but now I'm in an odd quandary. It seemed to install fine, and the phone restarted fine, but I can't seem to get to the settings page, or the apps page to finish the steps. The home button doesn't seem to work, and I can't find a way to back into the settings page... any ideas?

EDIT: Ok, I've gotten past this, and it *seems* to be working. However, whenever I change any setting, Sense has to completely reload, which takes forever. Is this abnormal, or did TF3D do that too, just less noticeably?

EDIT (part deux): Ok, so an additional problem. I can't seem to add a contact to any of the quick launch spots, either on the home page or the "people" page. I was able to add google maps, no problem, but whenever I try and add a contact Sense reloads and doesn't add the contact. Any ideas?

Re: Manila Sense 2.1 / 2.5 *Updated Feb 15, 2010*

Sidewinder / agrentinito - a suggestion, try one more hard reset. Once your phone has loaded up - program it (press the call button, #1, than reset)

Once re-started, follow through with the initial start up wizard. I skip through everything except for updating My Location...all other settings can be done later.

Once finished, I go into settings, personal, phone, CDMA services and set location to "ON".

I than use "QuickGPS" to download/update my GPS.

I than use active sync to restore my contacts, calendar, favorites etc.

Basically, I now have a working stock TouchFlo3d, with contacts.

Than follow the instructions on this first page. Install NET 3.5, sdkcerts, disable TouchFlo3D (or if you flashed w/ the new rom, it will say Touch Sense in the today screen menu) and than soft reset.

Than install the new sense 2.5 cab from pinky. Soft reset.

Once booted, install MMS fix from page one. This will also fix the start menu problem (pushing the home key and nothing happens).

I believe someone earlier asked if they can't access the start menu, than how to get to the next cabs to install....you can always assign one of the sense 2.5 home screen shortcuts to File Explorer for now and go that route.

Hope this helps!!!
