I've been looking at this thread for some time now and I'm glad to see there's finally successful kernel work (at least to where its booting). That's a huge step in getting Android running on our Whitestones. Keep up the amazing work and I'll be testing as much as possible.

Also, 4-shared link is bad

Hi, the file has no password, but i am a GNU/Linux user and it is a ".tar.gz" compressed file, you can decompress using Winrar or 7zip (freeware) without problems.

I uploaded it to MegaUpload:

MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

It will support any download manager also...

I guess the other kernel was a scam, it won't ever boot on our imagios

Please post after you try this one and find something helpful !!

Speaking of scams, is that a legit pop-up from the MegaUpload site about being the winner (from my state) for a iPhone/iPad? I sort of went along with it to see what they wanted since whois showed the purported link domain of amazonaws.com as actually belonging to Amazon, and I am running Linux, so not quite so worried about a Trojan most likely geared to Windoze, but still, it was a bit too creepy (not really confident about how well Amazon vets whomever they rent out their amazonaws space to...). So I did not fill in the blanks with mobile number, etc, and just closed the tab.

At first when I saw Android on the WM, I was like "why? WM is good, why replace it."

But I see it's set up as a DUAL BOOT, per say.
Now THAT is cool because you still retain the WM 6.5 too. :-)

I'm an amateur developer (C/C++ and some embedded work) and I want to help out here. I don't know where to begin though. Any pointers or reading material on how to get the kernel running on these devices?

Link me up, please.

irc.freenode.net #imadroid

I started an IRC channel for us to coordinate efforts and maybe figure out how to get this working. Would love to see everyone there!

I don't have any experience with kernel-level stuff but fuck it, lets see what we can find out.

Looking forward to get Android working on the Imagio. It's been a hella long time, yet no success on getting it to boot.

Re: Whitestone Android It Booted!!!

Once they get the TP2 up and running I'm sure one of the devs (which he mentioned got an Imagio) will probably jump on this side of the fence and help out... In the meantime, I don't think anybody has the experience on this to get something going ATM...
