I find the small LED flashes on camera phones to be crap. If I expect to be taking flash photography I use a real camera. This camera is GREAT in natural light conditions though.

BTW, my Q9C flash made an awesome flashlight. We were on an airplane that lost power after taxiing to the gate for arrival. It was middle of the night. That LED lit everything up.

The amazing thing with flashes is that they can be turned off, if you don't like them. Cameras without a flash can't be used as a flashlight...

Re: !!!Camera is unbelievebly better Now!!!!

I'm just at a loss as to why you bought something that did not suit your needs. If I wanted a dirt bike I would not buy a street bike. The bottom line is that this is not the appropriate venue, or at least not the appropriate thread, to ask about hardware changes, or even banter about what you consider to be a shortcoming. Start a thread discussing the lack of a flash(light) and you will probably find some people who agree with you. There is no reason to hijack a thread that has nothing to do with your perceived issue with the Imagio.

The thread is discussing a cab that increases the functionality of the phone's camera, which it does quite well.

Thank you. Get a two dollar led flash light to hold on top of it if you are taking pics at night, point being the imagio, believe it or not does not have a built in led flash.
I am guilty of contaminating with my opinion too, lets keep this thread dealing with the cab and camera functions at hand please. I would like to hear more about results. Does the cab help? Is it causing any other bugs or issues? Is it worth the time?

My limited review:

Performance: Improved (Much faster AF/snap time from pressing the button. I'd say time cut in half now) Also the view finder framerate seems a little better as well.

Functionality: Pretty much the same as before, just an upgrade.

Quality: No worse than before, I'd say slightly better in decent to full light situations, but it's subjective and not dramatically noticeable.

Issues: None that I have found. It works flawless as before with the above mentioned differences.

Bottom Line: Worthwhile upgrade, improves the biggest issue (IMO) with the stock camera, and that is the very long snap time from pressing the button to take the pic and the actual pic being taken. May also have improved the quality ever so slightly which I can't complain about. I have seen no issues or bugs with it thus far so there is no real down side.

Re: !!!Camera is unbelievebly better Now!!!!

As far as I noticed, there wasn't any significant improvement, so claiming the "!!!Camera is unbelievebly better Now!!!!" is a bit grandiose. What I meant to say was if you really wanted a "!!!Camera [that] is unbelievebly better Now!!!!" a better improvement than adding this thing would be to add a flash.

First off, it's virtually impossible to add a hardware flash to a phone short of some DIY mod, that most likely would be crude at best so that's not exactly a practical expectation. And second, I'd say a 50+% improvement in the speed of taking a pic from the time you press the button is very significant. The normal time to snap the pic before the upgrade was 4-5 seconds, which is now less than 2 or so. That was the bigges issue with the Imagio camera (Flash excluded as you knew going into buying it that it didn't have one.)

You didn't notice it taking 2 seconds to snap a pic vs. 4-5 before? Time them and you'll notice. If you didn't then it apparently wasn't a big deal to you or you barely took any pictures. That's pretty significant when you have any kind of movement in the shot.

Re: !!!Camera is unbelievebly better Now!!!!

The only thing I've noticed so far is faster Auto-Focus (decreased it almost in half I'd say). Aside from that it's still got the same image quality (which was fine) and I've yet to come across any issues or problems after having installed this .cab file
