SMS time difference

I live in AZ where we don't do DST. Ever since the time change, all of my messages get sent out at the current time, but the messages I receive come back an hour later. Does anyone else have this issue (from AZ or otherwise)?

Should I move away from the stock messaging app? Or could this be a system problem for those of us in AZ.

Thanks.

wow thats really weird. But alot of us aren't on the stock messaging app. Try something like Handcent from the market.

So even using Handcent, the time was off? DANG! Its a huge pain in the butt when sending/receiving a lot of texts. I've called Sprint, but of course they've never heard of an issue like this.

Re: SMS time difference

I live in Az too, & I have the same problem. I changed my time zone to pacific, & it took care of the problem, but obviously now my time is an hour early. This is really the only gripe I have with this phone. Some people have said its a problem on sprints end, not on the hero.

Yup, I just dealt with it since I was only in AZ for a few days.

So you just walk around with your clock set an hour early? Hmmm... seems like an easy fix, but one that shouldn't be necessary. Gotta be a better way.

Re: SMS time difference

I live in AZ and the Maintenance Release did not fix the SMS DST issue. I was on Sprint Tech support and there is a ticket in to figure out the issue. The issue I am having is the messages will show up as follows:

10:15 message 5
11:05 message 1
11:07 message 2
11:10 message 3
11:12 message 4
(message 5 is supposed to be here at 11:15 and not 10:15)

Note: I have made several changes to my phone like the manual GMT time or automatic. Reset my Data in the ESPT. The Tech Rep said the SMS Time stamp comes from the Sprint text server so they will have to check it out on there. I will update if they find a solution for me.

11/23/2009 16:26 - I just got off the phone with the Sprint Tech. They say they are aware that this is only an issue in AZ and they are working on the problem.

Re: SMS time difference

Yea i've had this problem with the messages and the home screen clock, it was an hour behind and the time in the upper right hand corner was correct, it was an easy fix though just deleted the clock and added phoenix as the home clock. but i hope sprint come out with a fix soon because it can get really annoying when trying to read messages.
