why is a hard reset needed. I just updated without any problems but only notice two things. phone calls show speaker and mute button and weather in the calendar. I hope someone finds the changelog. Nothing else seems different or quicker. I know that wasn't promised but I guess it's wishful thinking

We now have stereo with headphones plugged in. The old build only had mono*************

Everything looks pretty normal to me. Updated fine, weather came back etc.

I'm almost dissappointed, like I expected my phone to update into a naked girl or something....

I've been running the stock messaging app and my awake time is decreasing. Never really cared about the awake time anyways, battery life wasn't so bad if I could stop playing with the phone. I am anxious to see if the sound quality is any different, that would be a cool bonus.

The best way to check wake time is to leave your phone on over night and then check the wake time when you get up. If it reads 100 percent, then you have a problem. I have no issues with my phone regarding wake time.

to go back to the stock RUU, does that mean to go hold down the down volume and power, to get the list of options, and select one of the options, or can the stock RUU be installed from HTC/Sprint's website?

This update is great. Actually fixed my Awake Time and now I'm using the stock Messaging App. Not as low as Awake Time as before, but it's at about 35%. Hope Android 2.0 is to follow soon.

I am noticing faster response times, and using the stock messaging app again, and the phone is sleeping when screen is off. I was using Handcent previously. The screens don't have that slide-in/out transition they used to have in the settings menu, but that's fine with me.

I was rooted, went back to the stock RUU, and applied the update. I haven't re-rooted. I'll probably wait until android 2.0 comes out, and the root process is figured out for that. Too much trouble to go back and forth. But I loved the fact that once I logged back in with my gmail account, it knew the applications I had installed, and my calendar had all my reminders. That is just awesome.

okay so quick question. I'm a bit new to the android section. I just flashed over fresh's .5 ROM 11/22/09. can i do the update right now or do i need to unroot then do it? also im kinda missing what the 'MR' means/is

Fresh includes MR update. Since you are on fresh .5 you will need to re root the phone though to run root apps. MR stands for maintenance release meaning they fixed some screw ups. Its not a new rom.

thanks for the reply. i was sure it wasnt a new rom i just wasnt sure what it meant. lol im sure it wasnt for MIGHTY ROM :silent: ok just for further clarity however, that offical sprint update (allowing weather on the calendar) thing, how do i get access to doing that? from what you're saying I'm guessing i'm not rooted anymore so can i update, then re root and keep the update?

You don't need the update because it is in the Fresh rom itself.

Haha I was just saying that it is called an official for ROM's and a Maintenance Release for updates to current ROM's.

Go to your calender and pick the Day view and look at the bottom for weather.

ohhh okay which is why i had no update available xD. Thanks bro I'm gettin a hang of this lol. one thing i kinda miss is noticeable visual changes like WM Roms. like maybe new screens already set up for us or something. but im pretty positive that would require cooks to erase all current data from our phones...sooo no i'll pass [=
