Hero or wait for Dragon?
 

So, I hear the Google phone will be 1ghz and running android 2.0....this sounds quite pleasurable to me. I have a Mogul currently, and am trying to decide whether I really want to pay $179 for a HTC Hero, or wait and jump on the google train.....I dont want to resign a 2 year contract and regret not getting the google phone if it really is going to be the iphone killer...but at the same time I dont want to miss out on best buys deal for the Hero....ahhh!!! decisions!

My inner geek says wait but try the Hero out after this firmware update comes.

Well, the way i see it is if you get the hero, you will have to be on a simply everything plan, making you a preferred customer. one of the perks of being a preferred customer is that you can upgrade after only year. so if you upgrade soon, and subtract the months until the dragon actually comes out (and im not sure thats been confirmed for sprint yet). you're looking at only waiting a few months before you can upgrade from the hero to the dragon. I say go for it.

That'd be my ideal scenario too... How can I check for this preferred customer status?

When you go into your account it will say PRemier customer ...I believe it requires you to have a billing cycle that is over 100.00 per month. I have 5 lines and have been for 2 years premier. it works well

you just have to have a plan thats 69.99 or higher or at least either 10 or 12 years with sprint

you could buy the hero and have fun with it for a while and worst case if the snap dragon comes, you can sell the hero for double what you paid for it on ebay. I live in the now and I don't ever want to wait for a phone and be dissappointed. I had the pre for 5 months and then got the hero the day it came out.

Huh? Don't you have to wait the full year before upgrade on premier? Say I upgrade to the hero now,and the dragon, or another snapdragon comes out in January, I would have to wait until this time next year to be eligible to upgrade to the snapdragon.:scratch:

This is the reason I used my premier upgrade for my wife's moment, and am saving my wife's upgrade for whatever bada$$ android comes out next; which can't be too long from now.
