Re: who has the Sprint insurance?
This is a No Brainer. ITs an investment. Like Buying a New Car without Insurance. If something Happens then you play full price again. Do the math 399.99-499.99 *2 compared to 7*12 or even 7*24...............Also unless this has changed in the past 2 months if you have the full insurance and your phone malfunctions for any of the service related reasons Sprint Will overnight you a phone without going into the store. I have even had the phone replaced instore for a cracked screen. As long as it is inner LCD they can replace it. there Policy is if its serviceable meaning not Physically mutilated , and they are unable to repair it , they issue you a new or refurbished one. this can also lead to an upgrade if the unit is not in stock or no longer carried. Asurion handles the claims when eh phone is lost/stolen or physically damaged beyond repair. They also can upgrade or swap out the model if your not happy with the replacement. You Win either Way

Re: who has the Sprint insurance?
i got the BB insurance but kept the sprint replacement program. BB will cover more than basic mfg and sprint insurance does. and if the phone gets "junked out" they give you the equivalent of the retail price on the phone, not just what you paid w/ your rebate. they also cover accidental damage w/o a deductable. the only thing it doesnt cover is loss/theft/total water immersion, which is why i kept the sprint replacement program.
plus as a BB employee i get a discount. and i can tell you that if your cool but firm w/ the person handling your claim in the store, they will often replace the phone w/ a new one out of the box, instead of a refurb like a service center, or using a loaner while they send it to service. |

Re: who has the Sprint insurance?
I have the insurance, I have a thing with breaking phones, I have used the insurance 4 times in 2 years, yes real number. Also the cool thing is if you if you have more than one phone one of them breaks all you have to do is go online activate it to make it primary then replace it, or go on ebay buy a broken one for cheap activate and replace for 50 bucks its a way to work the systen I guess. But anyway I break phones so I need it.

Re: who has the Sprint insurance?
Do the math.
*Replace once with 2 year contract = $268 w/deduct. *Replace it twice = $368 dollar w/deduct. You already have a year manufact. warranty. Within a year, these phones will be all over the place for less than $150, look at the Touch Pro. Check eBay... for less approximately $300 you can get a brand new Hero, see completed listings! That is how I got mine. Overpriced extended warranties are such a rip IMO. |

Re: who has the Sprint insurance?
Zombie you are right in that in which everything loses its market value.I but you can still recoup . Purchased Touch Pro from Best Buy Last year 10/08 for 221. sold 10/09 for 200.00. Used for Hero upgrade Sold as Brand new becuase sprint replaced the unit insurance. Purchased HTC Hero on yearly Premier upgrade for 129.00 with Rewards from BB. I only lost 21.00 value on my unit and actually got teh hero for the price it would of cost me for insurance for a year . I say its a great deal
