Question about tethering and GPS

I have been looking around the forum for an answer but I am not finding what I am looking for so maybe someone will be kind enough to give me an answer.

I have become a custom to tethering with my diamond on my laptop for internet without paying anything extra, is that possible with the hero? (if so maybe point me in the right direction)

Second question is again on my diamond I am use to using the GPS without paying extra threw sprint is the same possible with the hero?
