upgrading hero software

well it keeps getting hinted at, but i would like to know if it is a possibility to change or add to the rom or not. i want the moment for processor and screen but would love some of the hero's perks. also would some of our very talented chefs be able to do this here? cant wait

Once it gets rooted we will have some custom roms... im new to android myself but in short rooted is like unlocking with wm phones.
