Gmail Contact Sync
I'm a longtime Gmail user, and I was really happy when Gmail finally supported Windows Mobile Activesync for contacts and calendar. Now that I've switched to the Hero, I have a problem with the contact sync.
On Windows Mobile, it only sync'd contacts that were in my "My Contacts" category. Android seems to be syncing all contacts in Gmail... including people I've sent an email to only once. I don't want 600 people in my contacts... I only want like, 30. I have to constantly delete people from my contacts after I send an email to them. Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone else have an issue with this? Is there a solution? |
Re: Gmail Contact Sync
i have this exact same question... i will be submitting it around because I too do not want random email accounts synced as a contact.. thats useless to me... good to know it worked on winmo so at least theres hope... new to google contacts and definitely not happy at the moment.

Re: Gmail Contact Sync
Here is the solution:
Open your stock contacts/people. Go to the "Groups" tab, click the menu button and choose which group you want to sync. |

Re: Gmail Contact Sync
My issue is a little harder to fix. I have my contacts in Outlook and Contacts in Gmail. They are overlapping. Yes I can delete the ones on Gmail or I can delete the ones in Outlook. I cant merge them. When I add contacts it goes to Gmail and not outlook. Both would be okay.
So how do you merge and sync them both? Faldiin |
