Deleting mistaken words

The HERO gives us words to choose from as we type much like other HTC phones. I have made the mistake of adding a few that I do not want. Has anybody figured out how to remove or edit these words?

Start typing the incorrect word then click that down arrow on the word suggestion bar. In there you can delete words.

could you elaborate a little.. I do not see a delete function nor does pushing the menu button or holding the trackball down give you the option.

You can't do it. You can however set it back to default. Here's a link.
