Wirelessly posted (HTC Hero: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_5_5; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.2 Safari/525.20.1)

So what do you think so far compared to your tp2?

sWell it will take some getting used to, as I am a BIG fan of WinMo devices, but so far, I love the fluidity of the touch screen, no lag, no freezing, But have only had it for a few short hours... I am a HARDCORE user of devices, so it wont take long to find all the quirks in it.

YES! This is the kind of review I've been waiting for. I just got my TP2 and even though it's a very nice device, it just doesn't wow me. I've been eyeing the HERO for a while now. DO you think it's worth the trade? What do you miss and/or love about the Hero over the TP. I'm a bit worried I won't get used to not having a real keyboard.

Re: I belong here now...

Well the Hero definitely wows me! I miss the qwerty, but am am getting used to the on screen keyboard. I definitely miss the windows OS, but couldn't really justify having a device anymore simply for the OS being microsoft. TP2 to me was very laggy and froze alot more often than its predacessor. I miss Windows Media, as I had burned all my movies for my device in wmv format for pda, but I am sure I can either get WMP for the Hero or figure out how to burn my movies in a format it will read. I can't even begin where to tell you how much or what I love about the Hero. I guess I was just over WinMo??? Dont get me wrong, I love Winmo, but I want the 'NOW' and even though I despise Google, I think they are headed in the right direction! peace my new brothers-br

Re: I belong here now...

Hero wows, prefer it over the WinMo devices (for now), but id still rather have my Pre. That being said, the Hero is one of the best devices out there in terms of simplicity, ease of use, and being reliable. The only glitch ive seen is the phone says your on EVDO Rev 0 when you are really running Rev A, small minor glitch since its not the other way around lol

Re: I belong here now...

Yes I guess I'm over here now too, after having winmo devices since 2000 this is a big change for me. I went from the touch, to the touch pro, to the pro2 and I must say that I'm liking the hero, and it seemslike it's going to be great. I thought about the pre but I think I'll stay with the hero, and yes I miss the keypad but still it's ok. I think the price was I good thing too this is a great device for half the price almost. I 've just downloaded and app for the market on the phone called act 1 try it for all of your wma clips. the movies I recorded with the touch pro played with this so I think this will help.

Re: I belong here now...

I'm pretty impressed with this phone so far... and slightly addicted (but I'm always addicted to my new phones for the first several weeks).

A girl I work with has the MyTouch 3G. She let me play with it for a few seconds... I gotta say, that phone looks very VERY bland compared to the Hero. I really love what HTC has done with the Sense UI. You really don't appreciate it until you pick up someone elses phone (assuming they havin't modded it any way). Even the icons in the title bar, heck, even the title bar itself looks sleeker and more polished.
