Root Status to Official 2.1 Update from Sprint

I haven't seen any threads regarding the status of rooting the new 2.1 update that some of may have flashed not knowing we were going to have to re-root our phones including myself being and android newb , but some guys at xda are working pretty hard on figuring this out which from what I understand has been a very difficult task.
