Contact trouble

So recently I have been unable to add or even edit any of my contacts... (seem to have lost the ability when I jumped from fresh 2.0b to 2.0d). When I go to save the changes (of an edit), this screen pops up:

And when I go to add a new contact it goes through fine, but when I go and check the contact list they aren't there.

Any help you guys can offer would be a breathe of fresh air!!

Did you wipe before you installed this rom?

I wiped when I installed 2.0b (since it was a jump from 1.5 to 2.1) but I was told a jump from 2.1 rom to 2.1 rom didn't require wiping... and I would imagine going from fresh to fresh would be even less troublesome.

Well then I can't offer you any help besides trying a wipe.

Yeah that'll be my last resort hopefully, I may try reinstalling the contacts app and see if that does the trick.

*Update*
I just ended up wiping and reinstalling everything. Edits and Adds work again, that's the last time I ever listen to "you don't have to wipe when flashing" again <_<

You initially didn't have to wipe between 2.1 roms, but the newer ones have some new crazy shit that makes them incompatible with old versions and most other roms (such as flashing from fresh to damagecontrol). General rule for me: Do a wipe unless explicitly told in the rom thread by the dev or the rom's website that it is not necessary.
