Re: mms problems again

What's funny is I called Sprint and they didn't have an answer, saying it was an HTC problem. So I called HTC. THEY didn't have an answer, but they knew it was a problem. They said hard reseting will fix it, but it will go back to the way it was in a few weeks, maybe even sooner. Bunch of BS if you ask me.

So far i've had to do it twice in 3 weeks to get MMS working again. I can send just fine but they never download on my end. Just get an error.

Unhappy Re: mms problems again

I started having this same issue yesterday. Have been using fresh 1.1 rom for like 2 months, no issues. Then all of a sudden (and i send MMS daily) it just wouldn't download (it said download failed.) So i opened stock messaging app (had been using handcent) and no luck. Handcent did update a few days ago, but had been sending messages using new version for a few days before losing MMS. I can log into the sprint picture website and get the photos and videos on my pc, so i know they are coming through. I can also send pictures just find (they even preview in the threads like normal in both aps.) I have restarted my phone a couple of times with no luck, not looking forward to having to reset the phone, hopefully the rumors are true and we get 2.1 update tomorrow, i'm holding out before i try the reset method; anyone know if theres a cache somewhere we can clear, possibly causing this issue?

Re: mms problems again

When I talked to Sprint and HTC they said it was a problem with the phone (completely independant of the ROM being used from what I understood). They said resetting the phone would potentially fix it, but they make no promise that it would. They know it's a problem but apparently have no fix for it. I don't know if it will remain an issue on the Sprint released 2.1. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

In my experience (as I did it Monday and Yesterday) it works by clear-storage on the phone, but quickly goes back to having problems. I cleared yesterday and already am having problems.

So it's a crap-shoot either way.

Re: mms problems again

I spoke to sprint today and "there is a patch being released April 9 2010 to fix the known sms/mms issue" the rep stated that it will be an automatic push, on or after April 9 power your Hero off for 10 min and power back on and push should be automatic, if push does not happen then call Sprint coustomer service to have them force the push via the tower.

Re: mms problems again

I had someone from sprint tell me this last month. The said a patch would be released at the end of march to me. However, using handcent is a workaround to the sms problem. Ever since I flashed to a 2.1 rom I haven't had this issue.

Good Luck guys and gals
