Droid users are/were experiencing the same thing. Are you using an aftermarket charger? That's what was causing the issue with the droid. Not sure why it happens, but just something to throw out there.

That seems like a lot of steps to go through for the Hero to be pocket dialing consistently though. Either there's something wrong the Hero's buttons, or the OP wears the tightest pants ever.

Not really, easy to double tap the menu button. From there it's easy. I haven't pocket called anyone, that I know of, but it's easy to do.

Same here. It goes nuts for about an hour or so.

"But there is more to this story. A number of DROID owners using the Motorola supplied charger are complaining about their beloved handset doing things on its own. Verizon has been good so far in replacing these runaway units, but no one can give a precise explanation why it happens. Some are blaming static electricity while others point to some kind of software bug. For some, even a Master Reset would not help."

No precise explanation...number of users using supplied charger experiencing same issues...that being said the after market charger is alleged to be the culprit...not factually the proven issue. Be careful to read, not just skim articles and then regurgetate semi-inaccurate information.

He was simply implying that aftermarket chargers have been known to be culprits, not that it was the only charging source that causes problems. He was just trying to weed out possible causes.

When I use a battery charger as a charger on my phone the screen starts going crazy. I can't long press any keys on the SW KB, I can't press certain numbers, and I have trouble getting certain taps to register. It actually does cause my phone problems, so I do know that it happens.
