I only had a plastic snap on case around the phone, but didn't have any protector on the screen. I've got a deal on an Invisible Shield so I'll put one on this time around and see if it helps.

I've got a "with Google" branded phone that I got a week after launch. Never used a case or screen protector. No dust issues with mine. Very strange how so many of these phones are having this issue.

mine is google branded.. screen protector since day one.. also using that body glove textured snap case. and fits inside the htc side case from best buy.. and still have dust.. but im not really complaining.. will get it taken care of one day..

most of the time i use it inside..so really cant tell unless the screen is off..

so is mine, unfortunately its not as easy as the markings on the phone, otherwise i would've demanded a non google branded one and forgotten about it

I just took my HERO in and the Sprint repair center said it was my fault that the dust is there. I shouldn't keep the phone in my pocket. What kind of dumb ass answer is that. They still got most of the dust out.

call sprint and demand a new phone, that's what i did and it worked. the dust issue is a known defect and not the users fault at all.

Got my Hero on launch day and had no problems with it. Just recently noticed dust under the screen on the bottom left corner.... no worries, Evo 4G =P~ will be out soon enough and I'll be switching. :D

it's a shame the hero will be tossed to the side like this as many, many users and devs will be leaving it.

You realize that you are THE flagship example of this statement, right? All you ever talk about is getting a nexus one or an evo and throwing your hero out the window.
