what is this?
it appears I have a corrupted sd card? but when I click the picture it opens up properly. what can I do to get rid of this problem?

I believe there is a folder called .albumthumbnails that you could clear out that might fix the problem.
Its a hidden folder, so you might need to turn on Show hidden folders in windows.

astro file manager will also let you see that folder on the phone.
